I have had Maine on my bucket list for a while now. When I was researching places in Maine I immediately thought of Portland because thats the city people most talk about. However I knew immediately that I wanted to visit Acadia National Park and saw that Bar Harbor was super close.
Bar Harbor is a little north of where Acadia National Park is. I've heard it called "where the forest meets the sea". Bar Harbors population is approximately 5000 people. Most things there are seasonal, so you have to know when to travel there. The research looks like up to October might be a good time for seeing fall leaves. Thats my calling, the fall leaves.
I cant wait to go to Acadia National Park one day. The pictures are tranquil and inviting. It appears to have a free shuttle for parts of the park. It also allows you to hop on and hop off. They also have 158 miles of hiking, and kayaking is available as well. So after researching all of it, Acadia National Park has it all.
