Choose experiences over exhaustion

Traveling as we have gotten older looks a little different. In our 20's it was like a mad rush to try and see as many things as we possibly could. Or our destinations looked a little different.

However now we operate at a little slower pace, and we are choosing experiences over exhaustion.
🍷🍪🍽A couple of examples of this could be a wine tasting or food tour where you are connecting with locals.
🏖Another option could be relaxing at a beach or pool with a rented cabana or a hammock.
🛳🛥Last example would be a river cruise or renting a boat for the day.

The next idea of choosing our experiences is slowing down and staying in one destination longer.  If in your younger years

you went multiple places throughout your vacation try slowing down and only escape to one city.  Look for hidden places that aren't on the radar of others.  Try taking city tour buses and hop on and off.  I love these because it does allow you to see a lot while taking your time at one place.  Planning one strong anchor event,  then decide if you want to add onto that or not.  At that point you leave the rest of the day open for leisure activities.

The most important tip I would give is listen to your body.  Smart traveling means checking in with your body on a day to day basis. If we pay attention to our body when can tell if we need more sleep, or if we should be hydrating ourself better.  The goal of vacation is to relax, and rejuvenate not need another vacation when we get home.

Whatever you choose, a slower version of your "Simple Escape" can mean more memorable experiences.
