Are You a Road tripper?

Where's all of my road trip folks???  Theres something about a road trip that feels like freedom.  Like adventure.

I LOVE a good road trip more than anything.  I love being able to take our time, stopping to look at roadside places. The weird roadside attractions you can find.  I love the conversations you get to have with your significant other and kids/teens (well at least when they aren't sleeping).  I love the goofy games you can play on the road.  With every stop, you get to explore something new — not just about the world, but about each other.

Ten years ago, after my father passed away my mother and I took my kids on a road trip to Colorado from St Louis, and I wanted to make the trip fun for the kids by finding cool roadside attractions that we could stop and see.  I bought them a notebook and stickers, markers, crayons that they could use to draw and design things that we saw.   I got online and started looking for interesting roadside attractions but it wasn't always an easy find, until I found this app called Roadtrippers. It showed the coolest places to stop see.  (heres a link to sign up for it)

We stopped by the worlds largest easel with a painting in Goodland Kansas.  We saw some teepees that were made out of concrete.  The kids enjoyed them and the trip was relaxing and fun.  I love how a road trip slows everything down. You can roll down the windows, turn up the music, and have those conversations you never seem to have at home. The miles between destinations become moments — moments to laugh, to reflect, and to reconnect.

Of course, you can't do a road trip without music and maybe some singing competitions in the car.  Back then there were lots of commercials on the radio.  We didn't have Sirus back then.  Heres a link to sign up for that   https://trackcm.com/7ql/eI6C

to do some music karaoke in the car.  I can tell you that between satellite radio and listening to talk Sirrus on that and apple music many hours can go by quickly. Who else love a good karaoke sing off?

There are so many ideas to do on road trip and we will certainly discuss more next time.  In the meanwhile, take a look at the app Roadtrippers and dont forget your Sirus.
